My Story
I grew up in the City of Gold, Johannesburg, in South Africa. Art was far from my favorite subject back in the early days of primary school. But that started to change when I managed to recreate Pluto, from Disney, from memory. That's when I caught the drawing bug, and from that point on, I slowly started to enjoy drawing things that excited me. My creative seed really took to the soil in my teen years up until this very day.
My artistic expression and written words are a reflection of my very essence. My portfolio encompasses a wide array of captivating artwork, I'm particularly enthralled by crafting romantic fanart inspired by the universes of Destiny 2, Uncharted The Lost Legacy, Steven Universe, Naruto and more.
In addition to creating fanart, I've been nurturing a personal project that has bee a labour of love for over a decade and I can't wait to share it when the time comes.
Inspirations
My life experiences fuels my creative fire. From the simple sight of a soaring kite to the depth of emotional connections with others, inspiration finds me in every corner of existence.
When an idea takes hold of me, I sketch it quickly on a sticky note or capture it as a thumbnail in my trusty work notebook. Music's embrace also guides my imagination, helping me visualize the various places painted by each melody.
Much like my fellow creators, TV shows and movies have been wellsprings of creativity for me. I revel in re-imagining beloved characters, weaving them into intricate scenes alongside their canon companions. And as expected, this journey has led me to craft characters and narratives uniquely my own.
Process and Tools
My sketches usually make their way into Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint – my preferred digital tools. There, I refine the lines, layer in base colors, add shadows and lighting, and add in captivating effects before the final export.
When the goal is a lifelike render, it's when Photoshop takes center stage. I rely on the smudge brushes by Istebrak, an artistic ally whose tools you can find right here.
In the midst of my digital crafting, I also hit the record button. Yes, I capture my artistic process in action, curating videos for fellow creators who yearn to witness my art unfold.
